01The service
In The Room is an AI-based tool that transcribes audio recordings and produces structured briefs. You upload or record audio; we process it and return a Word document containing a summary, decisions, action items and a full transcript. In Thoughts mode, the service turns spoken notes into written text.
The service uses third-party AI models (OpenAI Whisper and GPT models, or Groq equivalents) for transcription and text generation. The output is generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before relying on it.
02Your account
- You must provide a valid email address to use the service.
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
- You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- One account per person. Creating several accounts to obtain free credits is prohibited.
03Credits and payments
- The service works with prepaid credits, shown in the app as “briefs”. One credit is used for each recording processed into a brief.
- New accounts receive one free credit on registration.
- In Thoughts mode, a small number of short notes per month are free (the current allowance is shown in the app); longer recordings and notes beyond the allowance use one credit. We may change or end the free allowance at any time and may limit it to prevent misuse, for example per device or network.
- Additional credits are purchased via Stripe. All prices are in CHF and include applicable taxes.
- Credits do not expire.
- Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where the law requires otherwise.
- A credit is used as soon as a recording is uploaded. It is not refunded if processing fails, for example because of a technical error or an unusable recording.
- We do not offer refunds for briefs that were generated successfully but did not meet your expectations.
04Acceptable use
You may use In The Room only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Upload recordings that you are not entitled to make or process
- Record conversations without the knowledge and consent of all participants, where the law requires it
- Upload audio containing illegal content, hate speech or material that infringes the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or otherwise abuse the service
- Use the service to process confidential information of third parties without proper authorisation
05Recording consent
You alone are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents before recording a conversation and uploading it to In The Room. Laws on recording consent vary between jurisdictions. In Switzerland, recording a conversation without the consent of all participants may violate Articles 179bis ff. of the Swiss Criminal Code. We accept no liability for recordings made without proper consent.
06AI-generated content
Briefs are generated by artificial intelligence and are not reviewed by a person before delivery. They may contain:
- Transcription errors, especially with accents, technical terms or poor audio quality
- Statements attributed to the wrong person
- Incomplete or incorrect summaries
- Invented content (“hallucinations”) that was not in the original recording
Always review generated content carefully. Do not rely on AI-generated briefs alone for legal, medical, financial or other high-stakes decisions.
07Intellectual property
You keep ownership of your audio recordings and of the content of your meetings. You grant us a limited licence to process your audio solely to generate your brief. We do not use your content to train AI models.
The generated brief belongs to you. We keep no rights to it after delivery.
08Data and privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
09Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue the service at any time. If we discontinue it, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any unused credits.
We may update these terms from time to time and will inform you of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Swiss law, In The Room is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including losses resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
